One Night Stand #3

2007-2014

This eleven part series was put together using my photographic archives of about 8000 negative scans and spanning over 7 years. The photographs were shot while travelling across Europe, the UK and The USA, as a touring musician with the different bands I was involved with at the time. Instead of focusing on the night life aspects of touring, I decided to turn my camera towards the in between moments, which, in reality make up about 95% of the time spent on tour. Visions of gas station stops, window views, ferry boat rides, green rooms, highway landscapes, sleazy motels, absurd sightseeing, strange diners, days off touristic strolls, roadside vernacular, hungover morning walks and puffy faces bounce off each other like a frenetic call and response, in what could be seen as a diary of sorts. The sequencing, neither chronologic nor geographical, mirrors the feeling of utter confusion induced by fast paced travelling on little sleep, where one is never quite sure which city they’re in, which day of the week it is, whose house they slept at, which instrument they’re supposed to play or who is actually behind the wheel.
